According to The Sun: Gary Neville criticized Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim for blaming experts for the club's failures.

The former United captain did not hold back in his criticism, noting that Amorim's words about concerns that his players listen to the media are unacceptable.

Neville's comments and Amorim's criticism

Amorim believes that constant criticism from experts, including Neville, can affect players' confidence. After a 2-0 victory over Sunderland, he expressed his concern that media noise impacts the perception of his instructions.

However, Neville was quick to respond. In his podcast, he said:

“I don’t have much time for this. If experts are affecting your head, you shouldn’t be playing for Manchester United. It’s that simple.”

Neville reminded the coach and the club's squad that criticism from experts has always been an integral part of football, citing his own experience during times when he was also harshly criticized.

He noted:

“Alan Hansen said we wouldn’t win anything with young players. We were heavily criticized. That’s football.”

Neville emphasized that trying to blame someone else shows a lack of responsibility. He stressed:

“I never blamed anyone else when we lost. In the locker room, we took responsibility. That’s what real players do.”

The former captain also warned that blaming experts instead of self-reflection is a dangerous sign of weakness. He added:

“Excuses, shortcuts, blaming others… that’s the worst thing you can do in life.”

At the moment, United sits in ninth place in the table, having won only three out of seven matches, and the tendency for failure may threaten Amorim's career.

Neville's criticism served as a stark reminder that success in top football depends not only on talent but also on the ability to maintain confidence in the face of external pressure. We can only hope that the team can overcome its difficulties and find a way forward.
