Startup H2OLL launches air-to-water production system for Bedouin community
Startup H2OLL has launched a comprehensive system for producing quality water from the air in the Negev desert. This system aims to promote sustainable agriculture and will partially meet the needs of the Bedouin community. The technology allows water to be extracted from the air throughout the year, even in arid and desert areas. Currently, the system can produce up to 1000 liters of water per day, and it is energy-efficient.
Startup H2OLL was created by two Technion professors, Eran Friedler and David Broday, and was later joined by Dr. Khalid Gomed. The startup team also launched a crowdfunding campaign, which raised over four million shekels ($625,000). The project is now seeking financing to enter the international market, use solar energy, and develop a system capable of producing 10,000 liters of water per day.
Scientists have also found that microplastics negatively affect the human brain. A study conducted in 2024 found more tiny plastic particles in the brain than in previous studies.
