Jockey Briony Frost involved in serious incident after race victory.
According to The Sun: Jockey Briony Frost was involved in a serious incident immediately after winning a £46,000 race.
The talented jockey fell to the ground when her horse, a 33-1 outsider from Lewis De Syla, was struck by a competitor during a hurdle race in Oteilly, France.
Briony Frost fell headfirst to the ground during the incident which occurred after her biggest victory in France. Both jockeys remained on the ground after the incident on the first hurdle. The fall occurred immediately after she celebrated an important victory in Grade 3 – her biggest since moving to France.
Frost easily won, riding Good Girl De Faust in the Prix de Chambly contest over a distance of 2m2f for mares.
Fortunately, she emerged from the incident with minor injuries after a horrendous clash in the following race.
Jockey Tho Journiak, who was on the 33-1 Lankrey, also could not avoid falling at the first hurdle.
The incident occurred when Frost found herself in an improper place, and her horse could not avoid the collision.
This collision led to the fall of both horse and jockey, which was described as a 'serious incident'.
Fortunately, both horses quickly got up after the impact.
This was an unexpected turn for Frost, who was enjoying life in France.
She moved here last year when opportunities for racing in Great Britain began to dwindle.
Frost rides for leading owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede in their Double Green yard, but her greatest success on Good Girl De Faust is linked to owner Amanda Ingram and trainer Mikael Seror.
Frost said: “We are starting to rack up wins – first doubles, first group races.”
“Seror, his team and his owners really support me, I am very happy.”
This incident highlights the risks faced by jockeys in hurdle racing and reminds of the importance of safety in the sport. Despite the injury, Briony Frost continues to be one of the most promising jockeys, and her successes in France promise new achievements in the future.
