The fall of Hernandez occurred during a busy season when big money is on the line.
He was set to ride Mystik Dan in the classic Lukas Classic race with a purse of $500,000 at Churchill Downs on Saturday.
Additionally, the 2024 Horse of the Year winner Thorpedo Anna, on which Hernandez won the Oaks in 2024, is planning a return to the track at Keeneland, Kentucky, for the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes with a purse of $650,000 on October 5.
The condition of the horse Sgt. Garcia is currently unknown, according to a report on Paulick Report.
