According to The Sun: Jose Mourinho has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Benfica.
The Primeira Liga team began negotiations with Mourinho earlier this week after the dismissal of Bruno Lage.
AFPLage was removed from his position just hours after the club's defeat of 3-2 in the Champions League against Qarabag on Tuesday.
Now, the legendary coach Mourinho faces a challenging task — returning the team to a path of success.
The 62-year-old specialist arrived in Lisbon today to officially begin work at Benfica.
He came to his first press conference in a black Ferrari under police escort.
Mourinho signed a two-year contract with Benfica, but the club and the coach can terminate the agreement 10 days after the last match of the 2025-26 season.
