Ronnie O'Sullivan on retirement: I don't see myself retiring.
Ronnie O'Sullivan is not ready for retirement
According to The Sun: Ronnie O'Sullivan, seven-time world champion, admitted that he does not see himself retiring, although he understands that this moment is approaching.
The 49-year-old athlete feels the effects of his long career but is still not ready to put down his cue. He noted: "
I thought I would retire at 35 - now I'm 49!"
Ronnie believes that his ability to compete with the best is still impressive. "
When I last played in Saudi Arabia, I proved that I can compete at the highest level."
However, he believes it makes sense to reduce the number of games and travels to conserve energy, adding: "
I am tired. That’s why I have cut out everything unnecessary."
O'Sullivan has plans for the future, including the establishment of a global snooker project and opening pool bars worldwide. He is also supporting the launch of Pluto Snooker 900 - the first channel dedicated to snooker, which will be launched on October 6.
Although Ronnie continues to play successfully, he is aware that younger players are quickly gaining popularity. "
There are many really talented 45-year-old players who can no longer compete at a very high level."
Ronnie praised young Chinese player Zhao Xintong, who defeated him at the World Championship: "
I think Zhao has a huge future."
Moreover, O'Sullivan actively promotes the game by offering over 18 hours of live snooker broadcasts on Pluto TV and promises over £600,000 in prizes for amateurs next year.
