Zelensky in Canada: the country will allocate 2.5 billion dollars to Ukraine for reconstruction.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited Canada. In Halifax, he held productive negotiations with the country's Prime Minister Mark Carney, as a result of which financial aid was announced.
In communication with journalists, Mark Carney reported that Kyiv would be allocated 2.5 billion Canadian dollars.
This funding will go towards economic support for Ukraine, particularly for infrastructure recovery projects that have been affected by ongoing attacks from Russia.
“The barbaric attack we saw last night — a strike on Kyiv — shows how important it is that we stand together with Ukraine at this difficult time. And that we create conditions for this just and lasting peace, as well as for true reconstruction,” Carney emphasized.
In addition, Zelensky traveled to Florida for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. He noted that it is important to work on reducing disagreements in the future peace agreement, emphasizing that Ukraine has clear "red lines," particularly regarding the issue of occupied territories and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
The head of state also emphasized that work continues on a 20-point peace plan, in which four parties are involved — Ukraine, the USA, Europe, and Russia. The implementation of this plan will be impossible without Moscow's participation.
The financial support from Canada underscores international solidarity with Ukraine in the face of ongoing aggression. Negotiations taking place at the international level are crucial for developing peace mechanisms and reconstructing a country that continues to face numerous challenges amid war.
