Latvian Foreign Minister: No Progress in Peace Talks with Russia Unless Putin Revises His Objectives.
Peace Negotiations with Russia
According to UATV: Latvia's Foreign Minister Baiba Braže has stated that peace negotiations with Russia will yield no results unless Vladimir Putin changes his goals regarding Ukraine. She emphasized that Russia's plans to subjugate and Russify Ukraine make any agreements difficult to achieve.
Call to the International Community
Braže also urged the international community to continue working on new sanctions against Russia. She noted that Russia obtains military attack technologies from China and other countries, which requires attention from Western nations. In this context, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are developing a plan to engage Putin in negotiations; however, Braže believes this will be ineffective without a shift in Russia's aggressive strategy.
As a result, the situation remains tense, and the prospects for peace talks stay uncertain unless key demands are placed on Russia.
The statements by Latvia's foreign minister reflect widespread concern over Russia's aggressive policy in Ukraine, which continues to impact regional stability. — Baiba Braže
While European countries seek diplomatic solutions, the need for stronger sanctions and oversight of military supplies remains critical for the international community. This underscores the complexity of the current geopolitical landscape and the importance of Western unity in countering Russian aggression.
