Canada transfers armored vehicles and military aid to Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Canadian Minister of National Defence David McGuinty announced that eight armored combat support vehicles (ACSV) have already been delivered to Poland and will soon head to Ukraine. In 2023, Canada plans to complete the delivery of all 50 ACSV vehicles it pledged.
Minister McGuinty also emphasized Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine and announced a new package of military aid. Canada will allocate $835 million for various equipment, including medical supplies, weapons, ammunition, drones, and other necessary items.
'Ukrainians are bravely fighting on the front lines against Russia's illegal and unprovoked war. This comprehensive package of military assistance will enable Ukraine to continue its fight for freedom, territorial integrity, and democracy,' McGuinty stated.
Canada will direct $680 million towards the acquisition of military equipment based on Ukraine's priority needs as provided by NATO, with supplies from the U.S. An additional $220 million will be allocated for drones and electronic warfare systems, as well as other initiatives to strengthen Ukraine's defensive capabilities.
Canada underscores its support for Ukraine by providing military equipment and significant financial resources to support the Ukrainian army in its fight for independence, helping troops carry out their tasks on the front lines of the conflict with Russia.
This milestone aid demonstrates Canada's steadfast position in supporting Ukraine, which continues to fight for its freedom. Canada's response is part of an international effort aimed at helping Ukraine restore its sovereignty in the face of aggression. Such actions not only enhance Ukraine's defensive capabilities but also provide essential humanitarian aid during this challenging time.
