Canada Pledges $900 Million to Ukraine for Air Defense and Military Equipment: What the Package Includes.
Canada Unveils New Military Aid Package for Ukraine
According to UATV: During a meeting in Ankara on July 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a fresh $900 million military aid package from Canada. The assistance covers air defense systems, military vehicles, ammunition, and additional support. This marks one of the largest single contributions from Canada since the start of the conflict.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for what he described as a
“very powerful $900 million package.”The leaders' discussions also covered several key initiatives, including:
- finalizing a bilateral agreement under the Drone Deal framework;
- exploring cooperation in the energy sector;
- inviting Ukraine to become a founding member of a new bank focused on defense, security, and resilience.
This latest aid package represents a major step in bolstering Ukraine's defenses amid ongoing challenges. Canada continues to reinforce its role as a key ally by supplying critical resources to strengthen the country's military capabilities.
The initiative highlights Canada's growing influence in international support for Ukraine, especially given the prolonged military aggression. Military assistance and new avenues for collaboration—particularly in energy and security—could significantly enhance Ukraine's stability and defense potential. The deepening bilateral ties between the two nations also reflect a shared commitment to closer integration and joint efforts in vital areas.
