According to inkorr.com: Kateryna Sadurska became the world champion in freediving for the second time this month. This was reported by 'Hromadske' referring to the Base of Ukrainian Sports.

The AIDA world championship has started in Cyprus, beginning with the discipline of constant weight apnea without fins among women.

The world champion in this discipline, as well as at the CMAS world championship held last week, was Kateryna Sadurska. The Ukrainian won with a result of 75 meters, starting her performance with a gold medal.

In this discipline, Sadurska is also the reigning world record holder.

Let us remind you that Ukraine took 10th place in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

Ukrainian athletes impressed at the European Youth Olympic Festival

This festival has become the second most successful for Ukraine since it began in 1993! Our team won more medals only in 2019 when they received 25 awards.

The most successful sport was judo: our athletes won six medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament.

In addition to judo, athletes received awards in categories such as swimming (2 golds, 2 silvers, and a bronze), athletics (a gold, a silver, and 2 bronzes), taekwondo (2 silvers and a bronze), shooting (a silver and a bronze), artistic gymnastics (a silver and a bronze), and table tennis (a bronze).

  • On the final day of the competition, the Ukrainian team won another medal - a bronze, which was earned by Mykola Rushchak from Sumy in the 20 km race walk.

Ukraine took 14th place in the overall medal standings, winning 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.

Ukrainian athletes once again demonstrated a high level of preparation and competition. Kateryna Sadurska's successes at the freediving world championship and at the European Youth Olympic Festival highlight the potential of Ukrainian sports on the world stage. Such achievements not only enhance the country's authority in sports but also inspire young athletes for new accomplishments.
