Russian football player Vitaly Melnikov and fencer Dmitry Moiseev from the Russian Federation are accused of committing murder along with another group of individuals.
According to investigation sources, in October Melnikov, Moiseev, and four other men kidnapped businessman Samrat Javadov, took him to the forest and subjected him to beatings. As a result of the injuries sustained, the businessman died.
According to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Moscow region, six residents of the Kaluga region have been charged with murder committed by a group of individuals. All of them have been detained until January 18, 2025.
It is worth noting that Melnikov previously played for the 'Kvant' club in Obninsk. However, in August, the 21-year-old football player was disqualified for three years (2.5 years conditionally) for betting on sports events.
It is also worth mentioning that a football player from the Russian 'Lokomotiv' was deceived out of 4 million rubles. She was asked to take out a loan and transfer the money to a bank account.
The police reported that a call to the football player came from the territory of Ukraine, so part of the funds may be used to assist the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
