The special representative of US President Donald Trump for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, stated that the decision on elections in Ukraine should be made by the country itself, as reported by 'Hvylya'.
The question about holding the presidential elections in Ukraine this year was posed to Kellogg by a DW journalist.
'The question about elections in Ukraine should not be asked of me, it should be directed to the people of Ukraine, to the country's leadership, to the Verkhovna Rada. There may be many opinions on this matter, but it is no one’s decision, it is your (Ukraine's) decision, this issue should be resolved within the country,' Kellogg stated.
Earlier, the Reuters agency reported that Kellogg advocated for holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine by the end of 2025.
It should also be noted that Kellogg publicly promised to end the war in Ukraine.
