Frankel sold for a record £3.78 million: who is the new owner.
The big purchase by KIA JOORABCHIAN at the Tattersalls auction
According to The Sun: KIA JOORABCHIAN wasted no time, spending an impressive £3.78 million at the opening of the famous Tattersalls sales.
The football agent and head of Amo Racing purchased a colt descended from the legendary Frankel during the October yearling sales.

He fought hard in the bidding, selecting a colt outside the main hall and triumphed over heavyweights Coolmore.
This colt is a descendant of group 2 winner Aljazzi, and his sire is Frankel, who is considered one of the best breeding horses in the world.
The new owner confidently makes his mark at global auctions, spending over £20 million last year alone.
Additionally, he acquired the historic Freemason Lodge stables in Newmarket, formerly owned by Sir Michael Stoute, and significantly invested in their refurbishment for his trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy.
Future plans
Kia's team of advisors spent several days examining 179 lots at the UK's most prestigious auction.
They identified the horse cataloged as Lot 15, and he will now begin training with Kevin Philippart de Foy.
“The boys liked him, we couldn’t let him go, we want to keep the family and see how it will work out – if he becomes a good horse, he will be a stallion. Most likely, he will go to Freemason.”
“Of course, we like the filly too, his sister, even though she hasn’t run yet.”
“This is a different project – if she doesn’t run, she will still have huge residual value as a broodmare, and we have five stallions.”
“If he can’t, then that’s a whole different story.”
“We paid more than we expected since we were up against Coolmore, and it is five partners against one. This is an early blow!”
Seller Julian Dollar from Newsells Park Stud noted:
“Honestly, when I made the budget in December, I set him a ‘pitiful’ half a million.”
“He was a big raw Frankel, but after a year, he became significantly better, especially during preparation.”
“When I got here, I thought he had a chance at a seven-figure price, it was similar to the filly from last year.”
“But when two giants collide, there is always a chance that prices can soar to unprecedented levels, and that happened.”
KIA JOORABCHIAN's successful purchase at the Tattersalls auction highlights his ambition to reach new heights in the world of horse racing. This deal not only reflects the potential of the acquired colt but also opens up new opportunities for the development of his training base and strengthening his position on the international stage. KIA will continue to pursue his ambitions, watching the successes of not only the newcomer but also his sister, who could become a vital part of future competitions.
