Trippier named the most talented partner on his team: it's not Kane.
According to The Sun: Kieran Trippier refused to name Harry Kane as the most talented player he has played with in his team.
The Newcastle defender has had the honor of playing alongside many outstanding footballers throughout his career.
Dembele is held in high regard by those he played withNews Group Newspapers LtdAt Tottenham, he played with stars such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, and Son Heung-min.
After that, he transferred to Atletico Madrid, where he became a La Liga champion with Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez, and Joao Felix.
He is now playing for Newcastle, where he collaborates with Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak, and Anthony Gordon.
However, Trippier does not consider any of them the best player of his career. He noted that the best footballer he has had the chance to play with is former Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele.
“The best player I have ever played with is undoubtedly Moussa Dembele when I was at Tottenham.”
“This guy was an absolute magician with the ball. I hadn't seen anyone like him before, so I have to say, it's him.”
Dembele spent seven years at Tottenham from 2012 to 2019.
Trippier joined the club in 2015 and spent three and a half seasons alongside the former Fulham midfielder.
He is not the first to praise Dembele for his outstanding football skills.
The Belgian, who retired in 2022, was once compared to Ronaldinho and Diego Maradona by former Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino.
“He started working very hard, and we were very happy with him.
“I always say: 'Moussa, when I write my book, I will mention that you are one of the genius players I was lucky to meet.'”
“There’s Maradona, Ronaldinho, Jay-Jay Okocha, Ivan de la Pena, and Moussa Dembele.”
“We always told him that if we had taken him when he was 18 or 19 years old, he would have become one of the best players in the world.”
In the conversation, Trippier emphasized Dembele's unique qualities, reminding that his talent and unmatched style left a deep impression on everyone who was around. The compliments expressed confirm Dembele's status as one of the brightest players of his generation, whose career will be interesting to follow even after its conclusion.
Trippier's words highlight the importance of the team in nurturing and supporting talent in football, as well as how leading players influence those who play alongside them.
