Independence Day in Kyiv: how the capital celebrates the 34th anniversary.
According to FREEДOM: Today, Ukraine celebrates the 34th anniversary of independence. During this time, the Russian Federation has tried to limit the rights and freedoms of Ukrainians, but unsuccessfully. The residents of Kyiv celebrate the holiday with vyshyvankas, remembering the victims who gave their lives for our freedom.
'For me, Independence Day is an opportunity to choose, an opportunity to do willingly what I believe is right, what is best for me and my family,' said a resident of Kyiv.
While celebrating Independence Day, Ukrainians feel unity and joy in celebrating their national holiday. The festivities in Kyiv included the participation of political leaders and high-ranking officials from other countries, who expressed their support for Ukraine and promised military security assistance to the country.
'At the G7 summit in June, Canada promised an additional $2 billion in military aid. Today, I proudly announce that over $1 billion of this sum will be allocated to enhance your arsenal of weapons—through the supply of drones, ammunition, and armored vehicles, which will arrive next month,' proclaimed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Ukrainians remain strong and committed to their independence, realizing the importance of this struggle. This holiday is not only about the past but also about the future, which depends so much on their shared spirit and determination.
