Kyivenergo calls for checking heat meters: what will happen to tariffs.
Before the start of the heating season, the Kyiv enterprise 'Kyivenergo' calls on apartment owners to urgently check the condition of their heat accounting devices. This concerns the verification period of heating and hot water meters, the relevance of which affects the accuracy of utility charges.
Address to apartment owners
According to inkorr.com: The director of the 'Energosbyt' BСP 'Kyivenergo' Konstantin Lopatyn emphasizes that 'the heating season will soon begin, and customers must ensure their accounting devices are ready. If the verification period has expired, the meter should be verified as soon as possible. Otherwise, Kyivenergo will not be able to account for them during the billing process.'
Statistics and legislative requirements
In the capital, more than 125 thousand apartments are equipped with individual thermal energy meters. These devices allow recording the actual volumes of energy consumed, so residents can pay only for actual consumption, not according to standards.
According to current legislation, meters must be verified every four years. Information about the date of the next verification can be found in the certificate of the previous verification, the technical passport of the device, or in personal accounts on the websites of Kyivenergo or the Centre for Communal Services.
Recommendations for residents
Given that the heating season is approaching, apartment owners are advised to check the condition of their thermal meters. Proper functioning of these devices not only ensures savings but also contributes to fair calculations for the consumption of thermal energy and hot water.
In connection with the start of the heating season, it is important to remember the verification deadlines for the meters. This will not only save costs but also help avoid misunderstandings with utility charges. Apartment owners are urged to be proactive in checking and, if necessary, re-verifying their accounting devices.
