China expressed hope that Russia would turn to a political path to reduce tension in the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by China's spokesman, Gu Jiaqun, supporting dialogue and negotiations as the main way to resolve the issue, despite statements from the Russian Kremlin.
We hope that the parties will remain committed to a political solution to the 'crisis' and will work together to reduce tensions, said Gu.
China supports international standards and calls for cooperation to achieve lasting peace in the region. The country continues to actively assist in reducing the conflict in Ukraine, urging all parties to engage in dialogue and cooperation.
