Ukrainians will not face an increase in electricity tariffs until 2025: who will be able to pay less.
In 2025, Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity at the current tariff. There will be no increases, including from September 1. Meanwhile, some consumers, on the contrary, will be able to pay less for electricity.
About how much Ukrainians will pay for electricity starting September 1 and who will have special tariffs is explained by the editorial staff of the Novyny.LIVE website.
What the electricity tariff will be for domestic consumers in September
The price for domestic consumers will remain at 4.32 UAH per kWh. The Cabinet of Ministers extended the special obligations (PSO) in the electricity market until the end of October 2025. This mechanism is precisely what will prevent the tariff from changing.
Who has significantly lower electricity costs
For some households, payments may be lower since zone meters allow savings due to different prices at certain times of the day. The Ministry of Energy explains that for such consumers, the costs are:
- Two-zone meters:
- Day (7:00 AM–11:00 PM) — 4.32 UAH/kWh.
- Night (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) — 2.16 UAH/kWh.
- Three-zone meters:
- Peak hours (8:00 AM–11:00 AM and 8:00 PM–10:00 PM) — 6.48 UAH/kWh;
- Off-peak hours (7:00 AM–8:00 AM, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM, 10:00 PM–11:00 PM) — 4.32 UAH/kWh;
- Night (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) — 1.73 UAH/kWh.
Who will receive additional support from the state for electricity payments
Additional support will be provided to Ukrainians living in areas of active or potential hostilities. Payments will start in October, the Ministry of Social Policy reported. According to the program:
- Assistance will be automatically granted, without citizens' applications.
- Funds will be added to subsidies and benefits for payment of housing and communal services.
- The amount is — 100 kWh for each family member, but not more than 300 kWh for the household.
Payments will continue as long as the family is entitled to benefits or subsidies, lives in a combat zone, and their housing is not destroyed. If the settlement receives the status of conditionally safe or occupied, assistance will be stopped.
Previously, we wrote that in conditions of energy instability, the issue of electricity prices remains one of the main topics both for Ukraine and the EU. The price of electricity affects the standard of living of people, the economy, and the rationality of resource use.
We also reported that in Ukraine, the topic of tariffs remains relevant. Periodically, forecasts appear about a possible increase in utility payments in 2026. So citizens reasonably wonder if they should expect an increase in electricity prices for domestic consumers.
In September, Ukrainians will not face an increase in electricity tariffs, which will contribute to the stability of their financial well-being. Some consumers will even be able to save due to the differentiated pricing policy. The state is also ready to provide additional support for residents of conflict zones to ensure the availability of electricity services under difficult conditions.
