Zelensky stated the impossibility of trading territories: what the Constitution says.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy loudly stated that the refusal of territories or trading land is unacceptable according to the Constitution of Ukraine. He called for discussions on this issue only between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia at a trilateral meeting.
Zelenskyy: 'We need real negotiations, and this means they can start where the front line is now. The line of confrontation is the best line for negotiations. And Europeans support this, and we are grateful to everyone. Russia has still not succeeded in the Donetsk region; Putin has been unable to capture it for 12 years. And the Constitution of Ukraine makes it impossible to refuse territory or trade land. Since the territorial issue is so important, it should only be discussed by the leaders of Ukraine and Russia at a trilateral meeting: Ukraine, the United States, Russia.'
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Russia has not yet given any signals about a possible meeting. In case of Russia's refusal, new sanctions may be imposed.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
An important piece of news was the announcement of the United States' readiness to participate in security guarantees for Ukraine. Zelenskyy had also previously stated that joining the European Union is an important component of these guarantees.
The statements of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicate his position on the territorial integrity of the country and readiness for dialogue with Russia with the participation of international partners to ensure Ukraine's security.
