Box with the most valuable. Unknown persons robbed Polish yachtswoman at the Olympics.
Polish yachtswoman lost Olympic pins
Polish yachtswoman Sandra Jankowiak became a victim of theft during the Paris Olympics. The athlete's Olympic pins were stolen.
“For Sandra Jankowiak, who competed in the 49erFX sailing class at the Olympic tournament, this year’s games will not be remembered fondly. The representative of Poland was brazenly robbed,” the publication writes. Unknown persons stole Olympic pins from the Polish representative's room - valuable souvenirs that athletes traditionally exchange during the games.
“I wanted to take the opportunity to exchange souvenirs with friends and other athletes, because it’s kind of a tradition,” she told Polsat Sport.
The Polish team was forced to move from hotel to hotel. “I had them in a beautifully packed box, which, unfortunately, I could not find. Despite informing the hotel about it, it has still not been found. I am very sorry,” Sandra Jankowiak bitterly added.
Let us recall that Kenyan runner Faith Kipyegon was returned her silver medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics by the judges. Earlier, the athlete won the medal in the final race of the 5000 meters, but the judges disqualified her for allegedly creating an obstacle for her competitor. As a result, the silver went to Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands, and the bronze to the Italian Nadia Battocletti. However, the Kenyan team filed an appeal against the disqualification. The arbitrators ultimately sided with Kipyegon.
