The Kremlin Has Been Defeated in the Russification of Ukraine - President of Finland.
President of Finland Alexander Stubb stated that Russia has suffered a complete defeat in its attempt to subjugate and russify Ukraine. He made this statement during a joint press conference with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda. According to Stubb, the West should have responded more decisively to Russian aggression in Georgia in 2008, the annexation of Crimea in 2014, and the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. According to him, a "semi-permanent iron curtain" has formed in Europe, with Russia and Belarus on one side and the rest of Europe on the other. He also emphasized that Russia failed to sow discord among European countries and drive a wedge between Europe and the USA.
The President of Finland expressed his support for President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his peace plan. He is convinced that a fair peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will be an example for the world on how to resolve conflicts. Stubb also called for the involvement of Global South countries in the peace negotiations and considers China a key player in this process. He expressed concern that there are countries that truly support Ukraine, but there are also those that want to distance themselves from this situation.
The President of Finland called for a peaceful process and noted that this moment should be determined by Ukraine itself and President Zelensky. He stressed that if Russia can attack smaller countries without consequences, it will become an example for other authoritarian regimes in the world.
