According to TSN.ua: The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has published its official exchange rates for January 20, 2026. The U.S. dollar rate fell by 15 kopiykas to 43.26 hryvnias. The euro also declined, dropping by 13 kopiykas to 50.30 hryvnias, while the Polish zloty decreased by 3 kopiykas to 11.90 hryvnias. These adjustments reflect the central bank's daily valuation of major currencies.
Market Volatility and Expert Caution
These currency movements occur against a backdrop of ongoing market fluctuations. Notably, on January 13, 2026, the average euro selling rate had risen to 50.92 hryvnias, which was 22 kopiykas higher than the previous period. Given this volatility, financial experts advise caution when conducting foreign exchange transactions.
Serhiy Mamedov noted: 'I would not advise buying up currency with all one's money in the hope of making a profit.'
The new NBU data illustrates the current dynamics of Ukraine's foreign exchange market. The decline in the dollar and euro rates may reflect shifts in market supply and demand, which can subsequently influence the country's broader economic situation. Investors and businesses should monitor these trends closely to make informed decisions regarding currency operations.
