The Euro has set a new record in Ukraine: The rate reached 49.65 Hryvnias.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, the official exchange rate of the Euro reached a record value of 49.65 UAH. In the international market, the European currency is strengthening against the dollar.
"The growth (of the rate - ed.) is happening because the Euro continues to gain value against the dollar in the international market," he explained.
As a banker notes, this trend is caused by expectations of a decline in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve next year. This, in his opinion, puts pressure on the dollar and weakens its position against major world currencies.
The circulation of Euros in the market
The official rate of the European Central Bank rose by 15% from January 1 to December 16 of this year to 1.18 USD.
It is predicted that the exchange rate of Hryvnia against the Euro in the second half of December will remain in the range of 48.50-50.50 UAH. According to forecasts, the dollar rate will fluctuate in the range of 41.80-42.80 UAH.
New pricing policy of banks
Last week, from December 8 to 12, the Euro set a new record exchange rate in Ukraine. On December 12, its official rate reached the historically highest level of 49.51 UAH. On Monday, December 8, the rate was 48.99 UAH.
On December 15, many banks began selling currency at a new price - at 50 UAH. Banks that set new Euro rates included "PUMB", "A-Bank", "Kristalbank", "Metabank", "TAS-Kommerzbank", "BTA-Bank", and "Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development".
The record growth of the Euro rate shows the influence of global economic factors on the currency market in Ukraine. Observing trends in international trade and monetary policy can help predict the further development of the situation and possible changes in exchange rates.
