According to TSN.ua: The euro rate has crossed the threshold of 50 hryvnias, reaching 50.92 UAH as of January 13, 2023. At the same time, the dollar rate is 43.58 UAH. Since the beginning of the month, the euro has increased in price by 82 kopecks, indicating changes in the currency market of Ukraine.
At exchange offices, the euro is bought for 50.17 UAH, while the dollar can be purchased for 42.98 UAH. On the interbank market on January 12, the dollar rate fluctuated within the range of 43.28-43.31 UAH, while the euro rate was 50.55-50.57 UAH. This data indicates a certain instability that may affect various sectors of the economy.
Impact on the economy and possible measures
The National Bank of Ukraine has international reserves of 57 billion dollars, which can serve as support for the currency rate amid fluctuations. The situation in the currency market remains current, and further changes may impact the economic situation in the country.
The rise in the euro rate may indicate changes in demand for currency in Ukraine, which, in turn, may affect the prices of imported goods and services. In the event of further instability in the currency market, the National Bank of Ukraine may be forced to take additional measures to support the hryvnia rate and the stability of the economy.
The situation deserves attention, as the impact of currency fluctuations is felt in many sectors, including trade and financial services.
