Valentine's Day 2026 in Odesa: Price Guide for Roses and Tulips.
Flowers for Romantic Holidays in Odesa: Pricing and Trends
According to Novyny.live: As Valentine's Day 2026 approaches in Odesa, flowers remain a quintessential romantic gift. The market is shaped by supply and demand, with prices fluctuating based on factors like stem length. Vendors note that despite shifts in wholesale costs, consumers continue to prioritize finding beautiful bouquets for special occasions.
The current market price for roses is as follows:
- 60–70 cm stems – 80 hryvnias
- 80 cm stems – 100 hryvnias
- One-meter stems – 120 hryvnias
“Our pricing policy for roses will be: 60–70 centimeters is 80 hryvnias. The taller ones, 80 centimeters, are 100 hryvnias. And the tallest, one-meter stems, are 120 hryvnias.” - Vendor Maryna
Tulips are also expected on the market, with the vendor stating they 'will be around 50 hryvnias. The price has held steady from last year.' While tulips are traditionally popular for International Women's Day on March 8th, the red rose remains the favorite for February 14th, as the 'color of love' consistently attracts buyers.
For pre-arranged bouquets, a small composition starts at 500 hryvnias, with prices potentially reaching up to 3000 hryvnias. Vendor Maryna explains that 'bouquets range from 500 to 3000, but it all depends on the contents. For example, 11 roses start at 1300 and go up from there.'
An orchid costs between 700 and 1500 hryvnias, while a single hydrangea bloom is priced at approximately 350 hryvnias. Despite rising wholesale prices for roses, retail markups have decreased, which has impacted sales volumes, causing them to drop by roughly five times.
Thus, Odesa residents selecting flowers for their celebrations consider not only price but also the symbolism each bloom carries. The enduring demand for flowers during holidays, even as prices rise, underscores their continued role as a key element of romantic gestures in the city. The reduced markup on some varieties may reflect vendors' strategies to maintain sales in a challenging economic climate.
