Lamin Yamal will miss three weeks due to injury: what does this mean for Barcelona.
According to The Sun: Lamin Yamal is sidelined for three weeks due to a recurrence of "discomfort in the groin area".
The Barcelona star has faced similar issues this season.
GettyYamal missed four matches in September but got a chance to return to the Barcelona squad during the game against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
He played the entire match, but the game ended in a 2-1 defeat for Barcelona after an opponent's goal in the 90th minute.
Unfortunately, Yamal's return has brought new problems - he felt groin discomfort again.
FC Barcelona has confirmed that it happened again.
Yamal will miss the next match against Sevilla, as well as the Spanish national team's games against Georgia and Bulgaria.
Barcelona stated: “The discomfort in the groin area that player Lamin Yamal is feeling has recurred after the match with PSG. He will miss the game against Sevilla, and the expected recovery time is 2-3 weeks.”
This came after Yamal finished second in the Ballon d'Or. The winner was PSG forward Ousmane Dembele, but Yamal received the title of the best young player in the world.
It is worth noting that he celebrated his 18th birthday in July and has all the chances for a brilliant career ahead.
This situation is a significant blow for Barcelona and the Spanish national team, as Yamal has proven to be one of the most promising young talents in world football. He currently needs to undergo treatment and rehabilitation to return to the game in optimal condition.
