The TNT Sports presenter confused the name of Virgil van Dijk live.
Blunder by Laura Woods during the Champions League broadcast
According to The Sun: Laura Woods made football fans laugh on Wednesday evening when she made an embarrassing mistake during the broadcast of a Champions League match on TNT Sports.
The experienced presenter was commenting on the game between Liverpool and Atlético Madrid when she accidentally called Liverpool's captain, Virgil van Dijk, 'Virgin van Dijk'. This slip-up prompted a lot of laughter on social media.

After saying this, she began to laugh and added: "...means the team gets three points at Anfield."
Viewers couldn't believe their ears and started joking on social networks. One user wrote: "Did Laura Woods really just call him Virgin van Dijk?"
Another fan jokingly added: "Laura Woods... 'Virgin van Dijk'. I will be your first big man" with hearts.
It doesn't seem to be the first time the presenter has made mistakes, as some viewers pointed out that this kind of thing has happened before.
One fan wrote: "This is already the second time Laura Woods has called van Dijk 'Virgin'."
Exciting moments of the game
Laura, an Arsenal fan, appeared particularly excited while commenting on this part of the season.
This was just one of many bizarre events of the game. TNT commentators Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist experienced a 'chair collapse' during the game, apparently due to emotional moments on the pitch.
Liverpool opened the scoring, with Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah finding the net within the first six minutes. Atlético responded with two goals from Marcos Llorente, but van Dijk, however you choose to call him, eventually became the hero by scoring the decisive goal in the 92nd minute.
Atlético Madrid's coach, Diego Simeone, also wanted to join in on the celebrations and attempted to push through the crowd of fans after being provoked by spectators. He had to be held back by security before being escorted off the field in the closing minutes of the game.
Thus, the game was full of lively moments, and Laura Woods became the subject of jokes on social media, reminding everyone that even professionals can make mistakes. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining humor even in serious situations. Football commentators often find themselves in similar situations, but such blunders make broadcasts more lively and memorable for fans.
