Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of the victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, let us remember Dmytro Tsud.

Lieutenant Dmytro Tsud (callsign Duts) was killed on October 22, 2024. He informed his comrades about an enemy ambush and ordered them to retreat, while he stayed behind to give them a chance to survive. He saved the lives of his friends, regardless of his own.

Dmytro was born on April 30, 2003, in the town of Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region. He graduated from school and entered the Kyiv Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun, where he excelled in his studies and held the position of platoon commander.

He then entered the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun. He was the main sergeant of the company and was a respected officer among his peers. Dmytro Tsud also began parachuting at the age of thirteen. He was convinced of the need to form a new officer elite and served in the military since the seventh grade.

After graduating from the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun, he entered the Military Academy (Odessa), where he began his career as a special forces officer.

During his studies, he was a wise warrior, respected by all. He participated in international exercises and made many parachute jumps with weapons and equipment.

According to a petition on the website of the President of Ukraine, Dmytro was always on his way to his goal and always knew what he wanted to achieve in life. He was a true fan and expert in his craft - the craft of a special forces officer. Dmytro dedicated a third of his life and all his conscious adult years to his profession.

He was always responsible and always went first on combat missions.

He was a true professional. He never succumbed to emotions and always remained calm. He never left people in trouble and always helped without any benefit to himself. He was a man of honor, who always stood by his words and actions.

Dmytro was a just, brave, and noble warrior and person.

He died as a true warrior during a firefight with the enemy on October 22, 2024.

Dmytro is buried in the village of Stepovi Khutory, Nizhyn community. He will always be a hero of war 21.

He is survived by his parents - Nadiia Ivanivna and Vasyl Mykolaiovych, as well as his brother Ivan.

We join a moment of silence and honor the memory of all the victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war. We remember those who died at the hands of Russian aggressors and honor the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our country.
