Leader of the Ukrainian skeleton Vladislav Geraskevich shared his plans for the new season. He hopes to win World Cup medals and has identified it as his main goal. Geraskevich also emphasized that this season is important for qualification for the 2026 Olympics.
The athlete appreciated the progress of his colleague Yaroslav Lavrenyuk, who adds strength and poses a strong competition to experienced athletes in the World Cup. Geraskevich and Lavrenyuk intend to earn two licenses in men's skeleton for the 2026 Olympics.
Geraskevich also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his classmate Yelizaveta Verbovetska, who perished in a missile attack by Russian forces on Kyiv. He noted that there are no words to describe his pain from losing this bright young woman.
It is also interesting to know that the missile used to destroy the 'Okhmatdyt' hospital in Kyiv was equipped with Western components, indicating Russia's successful circumvention of Western sanctions.
