G7 leaders called for negotiations on Middle East settlement

The leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy expressed the necessity of conducting negotiations to settle the situation in the Middle East.

In a joint statement, it is emphasized that the leaders of these five countries support efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.

"We supported the joint call by President (USA) Biden, President of Egypt Sisi, and Emir of Qatar Tamim to resume negotiations later this week with the aim of concluding an agreement as soon as possible, and emphasized that no more Time can be lost," the statement said.

All parties are obligated to fulfill their duties, the signatories stressed.

Additionally, emphasis was placed on ensuring the unimpeded delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid.

The leaders also supported the protection of Israel from Iranian aggression and Iran-backed terrorist attacks. They called on Iran to withdraw its threats of a military attack on Israel and discussed the implications for regional security should such an attack occur.
