According to UATV: On July 8, during the NATO summit in Ankara, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for the first time. The discussions confirmed a new $100 million aid package designated for Ukraine. This meeting marks a significant step in diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
Zelenskyy expressed optimism about the initial encounter, stating:
“I am pleased with our first meeting. We are eager to build productive ties with South Korea, and today we focused on mutual priorities. I appreciate the recent decision to allocate $100 million as a comprehensive support package for our country.”
The Ukrainian leader also instructed his team to follow up on all topics raised during the talks. The summit underscores the growing importance of bilateral relations between Ukraine and South Korea, as well as Seoul’s readiness to assist Kyiv during a challenging period.
This financial commitment from South Korea represents a meaningful step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially amid the ongoing difficulties Ukraine faces.
