Impact of the football club on the dart player's behavior

According to The Sun: Dart star Cameron Menzies admitted that the unstable results of his favorite football team affect his mood before competitions.

The Scot is a devoted fan of Glasgow Rangers, who currently sit eighth in the Scottish Premier League, having only won one of seven matches.

Menzies' reaction to the team's results

Menzies did not want to claim that his dissatisfaction is so great that it affects his game, but admitted that he approaches training differently when he is frustrated by the club's performances.

“It affects my mood during training because I just sit there in despair.”
“Especially this year, I’ve often had reasons to be disappointed with Rangers, as everything is going horribly.”

He added:

“This is a team I love – it’s part of my life. Every time I get the chance, I try to support them, but right now it's a tough period as everything is going wrong.”
“It’s like a toxic ex-girlfriend you broke up with but still keep in touch.”

Aside from poor league results, Rangers lost both of their matches in the Europa League at the start of the season. This led to the sacking of manager Russell Martin on Sunday, just 123 days after his appointment.

However, Menzies does not believe that all the responsibility lies with the former coach.

“Maybe the manager is to blame, but did you see some of the players? They came from the Championship, and I thought the Championship was good!”
“They came to Scotland and are now struggling. I hope I am wrong.”

If the situation at the club has affected Menzies' game, he knows how to hide it. In the first match of the World Grand Prix in Leicester, he easily defeated the world number eight Chris Dobey.

Ahead of him is a match against Englishman Rob Cross in the round of 16, where he will try to continue his pursuit of the £120,000 grand prize.
