Young Liverpool Defender Suffers Severe Injury Debut: Details.
Giovanni Leoni's Injury on Debut
According to The Sun: 'Liverpool' player Giovanni Leoni may miss the rest of the season due to a serious injury sustained during his debut.
Leoni, who is 18 years old, tore his cruciate ligaments during the Carabao Cup match against 'Southampton', which ended in a 2-1 victory for 'Liverpool' at 'Anfield'.

He faces a tough journey to return to the field by the end of the season.
Leoni impressed everyone with his performance but got injured due to an unfortunate fall. The medical staff examined him on the field, after which he was evacuated on a stretcher, tears in his eyes.
He was substituted for Milosh Kerkes in the 81st minute. The injury to the Italian could become a serious problem for 'Liverpool's' head coach Arne Slot, as the team has limited resources in defense.
Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez have also recently suffered injuries, and only Rhys Williams remains, who can serve as a backup player.
If another defender gets injured, Slot may be forced to move midfielders, such as Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, into defense.
The lack of depth in the squad was the reason why 'Liverpool' was so keen to sign 'Crystal Palace' defender Marc Guéhi on deadline day.
The transfer of Guéhi to 'Liverpool' did not happen as 'Palace' could not find a replacement for him.
It is known that 'The Eagles' were asked to include Joe Gomez in the deal or pay £50 million for Guéhi.
However, 'Liverpool' made it clear that their defender was only available in a separate deal, considering that the 'Palace' captain had signed a contract for only one year.
Liverpool advanced to the 4th round of the Carabao Cup thanks to a late goal from Hugo Ekitike, after debut goal from Alexander Isak was disallowed for a previous foul by Shea Charles.
This situation marks an important moment for the team, as Leoni's injury leaves 'Liverpool' in a difficult position with limited player options. The coaching staff will face a significant challenge in planning future matches and potential transfers to strengthen the team at this critical point of the season.
