Conflict at the Stadium

Simeone lost control of his emotions and approached part of the crowd in the 'Anfield' stands. A fan named Jonathan Poulter, 30, was sitting by the sideline and repeatedly provoked the Argentine.

Tension rose after Liverpool equalized, and Simeone angrily approached Poulter.

Poulter laughed in response, claiming that Simeone's assistant had touched him aggressively. Simeone was ultimately sent off, prompting Poulter to joke on Twitter: “Is this considered an assist?”

“I think he is a bit of a coward. I made no racist comments, and I never mentioned the Falklands War,” said Poulter.

Scandal in the Past

This fan had already received a three-year ban from attending football matches due to an incident in Steven Gerrard's farewell match. At that time, Poulter hurled insults at another fan who had come with his disabled wife.

Poulter blamed the conflict on Higham, who asked him to remove a large banner but received abusive words in return.

Although Poulter denied using vulgar language, he was condemned in court. The judge noted that his behavior was unacceptable, given his physical stature and the circumstances.

As a result, Poulter was ordered to pay fines totaling £1,080.

This incident was not the first in Poulter's career, raising questions about his behavior in the stands. It is essential for sporting events to remain places for excitement and positive emotions, not conflicts.
