“This week has probably been one of the lowest moments of my career, but it was also special because I have wonderful friends on this team, and I was glad to battle with these guys for three days.”
Scheffler and McIlroy discussed their emotional, physical, and psychological exhaustion on the course while playing in all five sessions.
“I’m on my last legs,” McIlroy said, describing their match as a “slugfest.”
Scheffler summed up: “Things just didn’t work out the way I planned. The week was tough for me personally, but I’m glad I was able to earn a point.”
