Littler was defeated by Greaves in the semifinals

According to The Sun: Luke Littler's dreams of a double victory at the World Championship ended after losing to darts master Bow Greaves in a tense match.

The two young talents faced off at the Robin Park Leisure Centre in the early rounds of the Winmau World Youth Championship.

In the semifinals, Greaves achieved a memorable 6-5 victory over Littler, coming back from 2-4 and 4-5 to reach the final next month.

This was the first victory for the 21-year-old multiple world champion over Littler, after previously losing to him in August at the ProTour.

At the final on November 23 at Butlin's Minehead, Greaves will have the opportunity to become the world youth champion for the first time.

For Littler, this would mean competing in two finals in one night for a prize of £132,000 if he defeated Greaves and also reached the Players Championship final in Minehead.

On Sunday night, Littler earned £120,000 by defeating world number one Luke Humphries in the World Grand Prix final in Leicester.

Since turning professional in January 2024, 18-year-old Littler has won seven out of ten televised championships and displayed them in the trophy cabinet of his family estate in Warrington.

His decision to compete again at the youth level raised some questions and criticisms, although he is still age-eligible to participate in this tournament, which he won in the fall of 2023 shortly before debuting at Ally Pally, where he became well-known.

Littler was expected to easily overcome 128 participants, however, the match against Charlie Manby in the round of 16 proved to be tense.

The encounter with Greaves, who many consider the future of darts, lived up to expectations: both players recorded an average of over 105.

In the end, the woman from Yorkshire secured her victory with a beautiful 84, allowing her to advance to the duel in Somerset.

This was the first victory for the 21-year-old multiple world champion over Littler, after previously losing to him at PDC in August.

In the final, Greaves will face Dutchman Giaan van Wegen, the 2024 world youth champion who defeated Polish player Sebastian Bialecki 6-4 in another semifinal. The winner will receive £12,000.

Littler's next televised appearance will take place at the European Championship in Dortmund, but he may again face hostility from the German audience after incidents in Munich and Berlin this year.

This defeat for Littler casts doubt on his future successes on the international stage, but his impressive achievements in professional competitions give hope for a swift return to the top. Greaves, for her part, continues to confirm her status as one of the brightest talents in the world of darts, heightening interest in the final and her future performances.
