She received the status of 'Champion in recess', allowing her to retain the title and return to boxing in the future.
Interim Champion Cameron will fight Sandy Ryan for the official title, which could open up the possibility for a trilogy.
Sulaiman said: 'She informed us that she plans to take some time for personal issues. The fight she was supposed to have was against Chantelle Cameron; by granting her the status of Champion in recess, we force Sandy Ryan to fight Cameron for the WBC super lightweight title.'
The prospects for Taylor have remained uncertain since her victory over Amanda Serrano in July.
After the fight at Madison Square Garden, Taylor expressed uncertainty about her return to the ring, despite her success.
She has repeatedly stated that the fight at Croke Park would be the only thing left in her career.
The future of Katie
Eddie Hearn, Taylor's promoter, reported that he plans to meet with the boxer. He said: 'After the fight against Serrano, she said: 'When I come back to the ring'; I have never heard her speak like that.'
'I thought it would be great to retire from professional boxing after this fight, but now some time has passed, and I don't know. I would say she is 50-50 in her mind.'
If Taylor actually returns, Chantelle Cameron, assuming she wins against Sandy Ryan, will be the most likely opponent for her. The Englishwoman has defeated Taylor once in the professional ring.
Her first loss happened at 3Arena in Dublin in May 2023, before she was brought back in November, leading to a record of 1-1.
Cameron is actively pushing for a third fight, but Hearn has also mentioned former UFC fighter Holly Holm.
'I think a fight against Chantelle Cameron would be a huge boxing event. I believe Holly Holm will fight for the world title against Stephanie Han later this year.'
Hearn noted that Taylor is unlikely to step into the ring this year and early next year. She will enjoy the holidays before making a final decision.
As for the venue, Taylor is once again discussed in the context of Croke Park. Her team has already tried twice to organize an event in this stadium, but without success.
Nakis Bidarian, partner of Jake Paul at Most Valuable Promotions, has offered to cover the costs of the fight at Croke Park to organize the trilogy with Cameron. Hearn commented:
'He can finance it if he wants. We took his money last time; it was extraordinary.'
'Cameron will certainly look for the fight against Katie, but Taylor is not afraid of anyone. She defeated Cameron in the last fight in a hard-fought match.'
Taylor is retreating from the ring for a time, but her future remains a topic of intrigue and discussion in the boxing community. With uncertainty about her comeback, fans remain eager for news about her actions and future plans. Whatever decisions Katie makes, her passion for boxing and the desire to compete remain at the forefront of attention for sports enthusiasts worldwide.
