Small generation will reduce the duration of power outages: expert's explanation.
According to ТСН: A large number of small generation facilities can significantly improve the situation in the energy system and reduce the number of power outages.
The energy expert talked about the advantages of small generation
This was stated by energy expert Hennadiy Ryabtsev during a broadcast on the channel 'KYIV24', where he discussed the current state of the country's energy infrastructure.
'If, for example, a main power line is out of order, it does not mean that the entire region powered by this line is completely without electricity. Because, if a large number of small energy installations are operating in the system, which are united in a small network, and connected to the united energy system, then the distribution system operator can ensure power supply to the vast majority of consumers, primarily critical infrastructure facilities,' the expert explained.
He also emphasized that the presence of a large number of small generation facilities, which do not necessarily have to be large thermal power plants, can greatly ease the situation on the ground. This, in turn, will reduce the duration of electricity outages for residential and industrial consumers.
Forecasts regarding power outages
It was previously reported that, according to the estimates of the director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, Volodymyr Omelchenko, although local long-term power outages are possible, it is unlikely that the enemy will be able to completely cut off power to Ukraine this year.
The presence of small generation facilities can provide Ukraine with some certainty in energy supply. In the face of possible attacks and damages, it is important to have flexible alternatives, as they will help maintain energy stability even in critical situations. Increasing their number can be an important step towards strengthening the country's energy independence.
