Drawing by Azov soldier Svyatoslav Palamar Kalyna sold at auction for 500 thousand UAH.
At a charity auction, a drawing by soldier Svyatoslav Palamar, which he drew in Turkey after being released from Russian captivity, was sold for half a million UAH. He announced this on his Facebook page.
«At a charity auction, my drawing, which I drew while interned in Turkey, was purchased for 500 thousand UAH. Now these funds will be spent on the needs of our brigade. Glory to Ukraine», – wrote Kalyna.
Ukrainian actress Tatyana Pesik, who hosted the evening, said in Instagram Stories that $126 thousand (approximately 5 million UAH) was raised at the event.
What is known about Svyatoslav Palamar
Svyatoslav Palamar graduated from Lviv Trade and Economic University. After serving in the army, he underwent training at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center as a contractor of the 80th Airmobile Brigade, participating in the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity.
Since 2014, as part of the Azov regiment, Palamar defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers. He participated in battles for Shyrokyne, Svitlodarsk.
After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Palamar defended Mariupol. In May, he was captured along with other defenders of Azovstal.
Some of the defenders who were captured have already been returned during a series of prisoner exchanges. In particular, on September 21, Ukraine and Russia conducted the largest prisoner exchange at that Time. 215 servicemen who defended Ukraine were released from captivity. Russia was given 55 Russian military personnel and former MP Viktor Medvedchuk, who was suspected of state treason.
The commanders of the Mariupol garrison were exchanged in Ankara. According to the agreements, they were to remain in Turkey until the end of the war and stay there under the protection of the country's president, Recep Erdogan.
We remind you that on the second anniversary of the terrorist attack in Olenivka, the fighters of the 12th Azov Special Purpose Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine called to tell the world about this tragedy. Azov reminded that on the night of July 28-29, two years ago, the occupiers blew up a barracks in the Olenivka colony near Donetsk with captured Azov soldiers. As a result of the explosion, 54 defenders of Mariupol died, and another 130 were injured.
