Garnacho jeered at Old Trafford: Manchester United fans harshly booed the ex-star.
Garnacho was mocked upon his return to Old Trafford
According to The Sun: Fans of Manchester United did not hold back their emotions when former club star Alejandro Garnacho returned to Old Trafford with Chelsea.
The 21-year-old footballer transferred to Chelsea for £40 million this summer and has already made his debut for the new team.
Garnacho remained on the bench throughout the game. However, this did not stop fans from expressing their emotions.
At the beginning of the match, he appeared on the pitch during matches against Brentford and Bayern Munich, but Chelsea fans had not yet had the chance to see the real Garnacho, as not much time had passed since his transfer.
In the match against United, the Argentine did not get any playing time, although television cameras showed him receiving instructions from his coach Maerski several times.
It is strange that he did not go on the field, as many fans were hopeful to see his potential against his former club. However, the coach, observing the red card of Robert Sanchez, decided not to release Garnacho.
This did not stop fans from expressing their outrage at his transfer, chanting loud songs.
“Who is this d*** from Argentina? “Who is this greedy p****? “Garnacho is his name, and he has no brain, “And he won't win any more trophies!”
The lyrics of the song reminded how Manchester fans mocked Carlos Tevez after his transfer from United to Manchester City in 2009 and clearly showed how United fans felt about the departure of their former talent.
Garnacho, who came through the United academy after transferring from Atletico Madrid, spent two seasons at the club, playing 144 matches and scoring 26 goals.
During his career at Old Trafford, he won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
However, after Garnacho lost the favor of coach Ruben Amorim, it was decided to let him go during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea player ratings: horrific Sanchez leads to catastrophic defeat, Caicedo disappears, and Santos brings light
CHELSEA suffered a horrific 2-1 defeat to Manchester United after Robert Sanchez received a red card in the fourth minute.
Enzo Maerski's team spent almost the entire match on the field with 10 players due to Sanchez's catastrophic foul on Bryan Mbeumo.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro secured victory for United.
But a red card for Casemiro before halftime left the Red Devils with 10 players as well.
Trevoh Chalobah eventually reduced the deficit for Chelsea, but the visitors could not find a second goal.
