The Manchester United Youth Academy is temporarily relocating to modular facilities.
Updates to the Manchester United training base
According to The Sun: The first team of Manchester United is actively utilizing the results of a £50 million investment spent on upgrading the training base in Carrington.
Unfortunately, the club's youth teams, such as Under 21 and Under 18, are still facing some inconveniences for the next few months.
Young players like Jack Fletcher are currently residing in temporary cabins in the player parking area at the headquarters in South Manchester.
Before the renovation work begins in the summer of 2024, the youth teams had their own changing room on the first floor next to the first team.
There was also a treatment room located close to that used by the senior team, and both groups shared social facilities, including the cafeteria.
However, according to the club, it was decided that future football stars should not share these facilities.
“We believe that the first team setup is what young players should aspire to, not take for granted.”
Sources emphasize that younger players have not been forgotten during the Carrington upgrade.
In total, around £50 million has been spent on upgrading men's facilities, which were presented in August, and another £10 million has been invested in the women's side over the past three years.
Manchester United plans to improve its academic facilities to meet the first team standards.
The club believes that conducting works simultaneously is not possible as it would be too disruptive.
Club CEO Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox aim to enhance the academy and make it the best in the world.

Club sources report that in the coming months, youth teams will use modular buildings previously used by the women's team.
At United, they are confident that these facilities are ready for use by the elite team and staff and can be adapted to the specific needs of the academy.
However, young players are currently leading a nomadic lifestyle due to the renovations at Carrington.
But it has not affected their results: the Under 21 and Under 18 teams, under the guidance of Darren Fletcher, are occupying the top spots in their leagues.
There are many promising players in the youth teams, such as Chido Obie, Jay Jay Gabriel, and Shea Lacey.
The head coach of the senior team, Ruben Amorim, has already promoted several young stars from the academy, giving them opportunities in the first team, including Tyler Fredrickson, Harry Amas, and Toby Collier.
Thus, although the youth teams are facing some difficulties due to the upgrade of the training base, their results confirm the high quality of training and talent of young footballers. The club is taking the initiative to improve conditions for young players, promising a bright future for the Manchester United academy.
