Support for Amad Diallo after online abuse
According to The Sun: Manchester United has expressed its support for Amad Diallo, who has fallen victim to online abuse.
He received numerous offensive messages after sharing a photo with former teammate Alejandro Garnacho following a Premier League match victory against Chelsea.
Amad Diallo shared this photo with Alejandro Garnacho on Instagram INSTAGRAM @amaddiallo19In the picture, the footballers hold each other's shirts in the Old Trafford tunnel.
In response to the abuse, Amad deleted all his posts on Instagram, and club staff checked on his well-being the following day.
According to the club, while the Instagram post may seem naive, Amad feels good after everything that has happened.
Staff noted that Diallo has a strong character shaped by his difficult upbringing.
Amad and Garnacho share the same agent and developed a close friendship while playing at United after signing with the club in 2020.
Garnacho, who now plays for Chelsea, also faced criticism from United fans during his return, when he was booed and abused.
He was brought on from the bench.
During United's postseason tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong in May, Amad expressed hope that Garnacho would stay with the club.
“Alejandro is a really good player, and we need a good player in the team,” Amad said. “I hope Garnacho will be with us next season.”
Garnacho transferred to Chelsea on August 30 for £40 million after five years at United.
He became the fourth most expensive sale in the club's history, and club sources confirmed that he was eager to leave the team in the summer.
Garnacho was among a group of players instructed to attend training at separate times this summer.
Other members of that group included Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.
ReutersGarnacho faced criticism from United fans again during his return to Old Trafford.
This situation highlights not only the pressure faced by professional athletes but also the importance of support from the club and colleagues during difficulties they may encounter. Mutual support among players can help navigate the challenges associated with criticism and pressure from fans and media.
