Trabzonspor wants to buy Onana: how much will they pay for Manchester United's goalkeeper.
Trabzonspor's Interest in Andre Onana
According to The Sun: The club Trabzonspor intends to sign Andre Onana on a permanent basis, despite the fact that his contract is a loan without an option to buy, as reported by SunSport.
The prospects of the Manchester United goalkeeper are promising: Onana has impressed experts, having played two games without conceding a goal in his first four matches.
GettyOnana's Leadership Qualities
Head coach Fatih Tekke is impressed not only by Onana's skills in goal but also by his leadership qualities and ability to quickly adapt to a new environment.
Although the deal lacks a buyout clause, Trabzonspor plans to initiate discussions with Manchester United regarding a permanent signing after the loan ends.
The club is already paying the Cameroonian goalkeeper over £120,000 a week, so discussing personal contract terms shouldn't be a hurdle.
However, there is some uncertainty regarding Manchester United's willingness to reduce their losses or at least recoup the £47 million paid to Inter Milan in 2023 for his transfer.
Current Position of Trabzonspor
Currently, Trabzonspor is in second position in the Turkish Super League and is actively competing for the title this season.
After moving to Turkey, Onana decided not to move his entire family. His wife, who came with him, returned to Manchester to be with the children, choosing a minimalist approach to focus on achieving better football results.
This approach is beginning to pay off: Onana demonstrated his excellent ball distribution skills, making an impressive 60-yard assist in a match against Gaziantep.

Issues and Recovery
Onana finished last season as Manchester United's starting goalkeeper, but he suffered an injury while preparing for the new season, which caused negative reactions within the club. Due to missed preseason matches, coach Ruben Amorim preferred Altay Bayındır.
Later, he played in a disastrous league cup match against Grimsby Town, where he misjudged a cross, leading to a goal.
This performance convinced Manchester United, which was once hesitant about signing a new goalkeeper, to bet on Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
SunSport reports that Manchester United and Onana have agreed on the benefit of a year spent away from Premier League attention, at a club where he can play regularly and compete for titles.
