Manchester United prepares sensational transfer for Neves: deal details.
According to The Sun: Manchester United is considering the possibility of a surprising transfer for Ruben Neves.
This season for the 'Red Army' has been tough due to midfield problems caused by the unsuccessful use of the 3-4-3 scheme by Ruben Amorim.
GettyAccording to reports, the club is interested in signing the former Wolverhampton star at a favorable price. According to Daily Briefing, the midfielder, who currently plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, may be released for just 17 million pounds.
Neves, sources claim, is eager to return to Europe. This transfer would be a significant turn of events, as Neves previously competed against Amorim when he played for Benfica in April 2015, although they did not play on the field at the same time.
Amorim was on the bench for Benfica in that game, while Neves played for Porto alongside current United star Casemiro.
After Cristiano Ronaldo's move in 2023, Neves became one of the players who moved to the Middle East, signing a contract worth around 300,000 pounds per week.
He left Wolverhampton after six years, moving for a club-record fee of 47 million pounds, and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Before Wolverhampton, Neves captained his hometown club Porto in the Champions League.
In the Premier League, he made 177 appearances for Wolverhampton, scoring 21 goals, many of which were from distance.
Interestingly, one of his goals was scored against the 'Red Devils' in August 2019 from a long-range shot of 25 yards, which allowed his team to equalize.
Even after moving to a club outside the main European leagues, Neves regularly represents the Portugal national team.
He has recently scored a decisive penalty in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain this year, coming on in the second half and strengthening the midfield against the European champions.

United is in 14th place in the table after a heavy defeat by Manchester City with a score of 3-0.
