Manchester United prepares to sell Zirkzee: who wants to acquire the Dutchman.
Possible transfer of Joshua Zirkzee to Como
According to The Sun: Joshua Zirkzee may move to Como as early as January. Despite numerous rumors, a deal for the Dutch forward to join Sebastiano Fabregas's team has not yet been finalized.
GettyHowever, Manchester United is willing to consider selling or loaning the player during the winter transfer window. Zirkzee, who became one of Erik ten Hag's latest signings, joined the club for £36.5 million after his 11 goals helped Bologna qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the 2023/2024 season.
Form issues
The 24-year-old forward may return to Serie A after moving to Manchester 14 months ago. Juventus and Como, currently mid-table, are also looking at Zirkzee. Juventus may express interest again after being interested last spring.
Zirkzee is considered an ideal candidate for the project led by former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Fabregas.
The Dutch national team player signed a contract with United until 2029 and has so far played four out of four matches this season from the bench. During this time, he scored seven goals and provided three assists in 53 matches for the club.
Italian clubs have often helped United in recent years. Napoli secured a deal on the last day of transfers with an obligation to buy Rasmus Hojlund, who was deemed surplus.
Playing time issues
Antonio Conte's club also signed Scott McTominay in the summer of 2023, whose 'Serie A Player of the Year' award last season earned him a Ballon d'Or nomination.
During the last winter window, Ruben Amorim expressed the desire to keep Zirkzee at the club.
Amorim told talkSPORT: “I want to keep Josh because he gives everything and works hard in training, but we don't know what will happen.”
Choosing such a path, the forward faces challenges in establishing himself in United’s starting lineup.

The prospect of Zirkzee's transfer is generating interest as the player seeks to find his form at Manchester United. A new club could mark an important stage in his career, considering the competitive situation in the team and the desire to focus on his own development. If the deal goes through, it will create new opportunities not only for Zirkzee but also for Como, which is looking to strengthen its squad. Read also
