Manchester United rejected the transfer of Gallagher: why the attacking midfielder is not needed by Amorim.
Manchester United rejected the transfer of Gallagher
According to The Sun: Manchester United did not take the opportunity to sign midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid on the day the transfer window closed.
25-year-old Gallagher was offered to United by the Spanish club, but the team focused on signing goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for £18.2 million.

Club sources indicated that the midfielder was not a priority for Manchester United this summer, as they already have enough options like Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, and others.
However, a strengthening of the midfield is planned for next year, as Casemiro will leave the club after his contract expires.
Furthermore, uncertainty regarding Mainoo's future still continues, as the club blocked his request for a loan last month.
Gallagher, who was bought by Atletico from Chelsea for £33 million, played only 19 out of 38 matches in La Liga last season.
At this moment, Atletico values Gallagher at £52 million, and Manchester United may try to sign him during the winter transfer window.
Gallagher signed a contract with Atletico until 2029.
This rejection of Gallagher's transfer likely indicates that Manchester United has other priorities in terms of strengthening the squad. Time will tell if they will consider the possibility of signing this talented midfielder in the future, given his value and potential in the market. Upcoming transfer windows could bring new opportunities for deals, especially if changes in the team's roster become unavoidable.
