The transfer of Guehi to Liverpool fell through: Crystal Palace asked for Joe Gomez in exchange.
According to The Sun: The club CRYSTAL PALACE approached Joe Gomez as part of the deal with Marc Guehi, but in the end, this deal did not materialize.
Guehi, a 25-year-old forward, was left disappointed when his transfer to Liverpool suddenly fell through the day before.

According to SunSport, Guehi had the full support of coach Oliver Glasner and club chairman Stephen Parish, who gave him the green light for a medical. Everything seemed ready for his move to Liverpool.
Contrary to rumors about delays from the 'Reds', the first meeting with Palace took place on August 9. Two days later, an official offer was made after receiving approval from the Liverpool owners in the US.
However, the Palace club decided not to continue negotiations as the transfer window was nearing closure.
They put forward a demand for 50 million pounds or the inclusion of Joe Gomez in the deal for Guehi.
Liverpool made it clear that Gomez, who has two years left on his contract, would only be available in a separate deal, not as part of a package for Guehi, who only had a year left on his current contract.
Both sides believed there was plenty of time for Palace to find a replacement, as the defender had already informed the club of his wish not to leave it for nothing, prompting them to take advantage of the opportunity.
Complications of the deal
On the eve of the deadline, Guehi received comprehensive support to finalize a deal that would have been a dream for him.
According to sources, Guehi learned of the complications of the deal just two hours after starting his medical, but nonetheless completed it around 6 PM on deadline day.
According to sources, Guehi was unable to reach Steve Parish and coach Oliver Glasner to find out why the deal fell through.

Ultimately, he requested a meeting with his representatives, during which Steve Parish communicated that the club could not continue the deal due to the lack of a suitable replacement.
Guehi, although wanting to stay at Palace, feels deceived, believing that the club always knew about the impossibility of the deal but encouraged him to believe otherwise.
This situation highlights the complexities of transfers in football, where shifts can occur at the last moment. Players and clubs must be prepared for surprises, as sometimes hopes for new opportunities can collapse at the very last minute. The uncertainty surrounding transfers and their complexities only adds tension to the world of sports.
