Guehi's transfer to Liverpool fell through at the last minute: a farewell video leaked online.
Video of Marc Guehi's farewell became known after the transfer failure
According to The Sun: A farewell video of Marc Guehi with the club Crystal Palace appeared online after his transfer to Liverpool failed at the last minute.
The recording, which begins in black and white, features interviews and moments from Guehi's career after his move from Chelsea.
The concluding part of the video shows the celebration of Crystal Palace's victory in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, which Guehi captained. After that, a message was heard:
“thank you skip”, which was meant to symbolize his dream of moving to Premier League champions Liverpool. But ultimately, the video looked pointless.
Liverpool agreed to a deal worth £35 million for the 25-year-old defender, who had already undergone a medical examination in London. However, after requesting an extension to complete the transfer, the deal ultimately fell through.
Crystal Palace attempted to sign a replacement, including Igor Julio from Brighton, but West Ham sealed the deal with the Brazilian earlier. Without a replacement, Crystal Palace decided to cancel Guehi's transfer.
Furthermore, manager Oliver Glasner reportedly threatened to QUIT his role if he lost the captain during this transfer window. Now Crystal Palace risks losing Guehi, as he has less than a year left on his contract. Starting in January, he could sign a deal with foreign clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The potential loss of Marc Guehi could pose problems for Crystal Palace, especially if the club cannot find a worthy replacement. At the same time, interest from top clubs indicates that Guehi remains in the spotlight of the football community, and his future career may have a significant impact on the team's results.
