Meat, eggs, vegetables and more: supermarkets prepare to raise prices on essential products.
A new wave of price increases is emerging in the food market in Ukraine. Buyers can expect another rise in prices.
Oleg Vyshnyakov, the owner of hypermarkets, warns about this unpleasant situation, explaining that the main reasons are problems with electricity, difficulties in storage of products, and rising production costs.
'Meanwhile, egg producers are facing increasing costs for heating and electricity for farms,' said Oleg Vyshnyakov.
These issues are passed on to consumers, as producers include risks in the cost of finished products. Therefore, Ukrainians need to prepare for price increases for bread, potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, apples, meat, milk, sugar, cereals, pasta, and oil.
The extent of price increases for products will depend on the effectiveness of measures taken to address electricity issues, notes Oleg Vyshnyakov.
Some supermarkets have already updated prices for vegetables, but consumers also need to brace for increases in other products.
